1 | Manifestation or Vision? | John 1:32 | RJJ | 114549
Greetings evertone, With reference to my post#113450, was this a vision or a manifestation? For who's benefit was it for John or Jesus, if John, why was doubt shown, by John, later, if Jesus, why? would Jesus need encouragement or confermation? The gospel writers seem vague as to the answeres. SHALOM,RJJ |

2 | Manifestation or Vision? | John 1:32 | EdB | 114550
I believe it was for everyone's benefit. Jesus was hearing an affirmation from the Father. John was receiving confirmation from God and we have it as visual example of the Trinity. As to why Jesus needed it, who says He needed it maybe God was just giving Him an attaboy as earthly fathers often do their sons. John was moving in faith, faith is different that factual knowing. Faith at times needs to be strengthened, encouraged, built up. John was facing eternity in a very brutal way. By asking for Jesus' confirmation John was asking for assurance that he hadn't misunderstood everything that was taking place. If you look at his questions you see he was confirming not questioning. This manifestation also was recorded for us, so we could see the Trinity and also it serves as a testimony to us of the deity of Jesus. EdB |
