1 | Is Jesus the same God as God, or a God? | John 1:1 | COLT.045 | 204828
STEVE. No need for the shooting blanks comment. I did not say Jesus became Christ. Read my post again. God, however you want to define him was born as a human being Jesus the Christ. The Creator/God the Father/YHWH put his mind his thoughts into a human being. The WORD in John 1:1 is the greek word Logos. The Logos became Christ. Now how do you define Logos? The greek translation to english is what is uttered, utterance, revelatory thought, or what is spoken. You appear to have translated logos as Jesus or Christ. Perhaps the insertion by the english translators of the pronouns he and him in John 1 are confusing. Try "it" instead of he and him. Jesus Christ was the LOGOS/Word in the flesh. Everything was created by the Word or Logos which became Jesus the Christ therefore everything was created by and through Christ. Then God uttered/spoke let their be light!! Who is the first born of many brethren in Rom 8:29? No I am not a JW and don't know what a WOF is. I belong to no corporate church. This was my first answer to a post and I was trying to help a fellow human being with a question about who Jesus is. My understanding may be different than most but it does not interfere with my or your salvation. My name is Steven :) peace!!

Dear Colt, You wrote, "I belong to no corporate church." Perhaps that is the issue, son. Outside of a local congregation: you cannot be fully obedient to all of the commands of the Lord; you will be susceptible to error and deception; you will loose the advantage of specific means of grace; you will be much more vulnerable to various kinds of spiritual declension; and you will be outside of the explicit will of God. Note, also, that a man's salvation is always manifest through their love, fellowship, and participation in the lives of the rest of the Lord's flock. I'd be remiss in properly caring for you with Christian charity, if I failed to urge you to be visiting a local church tomorrow morning at the very latest! In Him, Doc |
