In fact, the passage you cited is the beginning of a passage of Messianic prophecy. Zech 12:10-14. See John 19:37, where John cites this passage as having been fulfilled when Christ's side was pierced by the Roman soldier's lance. Emmaus |

Hi Emmaus, The comparison of Zech 12:10 and John 19:37 is a contributing factor for my choice of a spirit being poured out rather than the Spirit [sic] of the NASB and NKJ. Here is the comparison according to my study of pronouns. Zech 12:10, "And I pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the *spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me/ whom they have pierced;..." John 19:36,37, "For these things came to pass, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, "Not a bone of Him shall be broken." And again another Scripture says, "They shall look on Him/ whom they pierced." This to my mind is a mathematical match of pronouns. The slashes are mine for comparsons. From the heart, Ray |
