1 | the goal you are living for when you d | John 18:17 | ROC | 24784 | ||
Hi Shepherd, our reason for living is to bring our souls into full maturity in Christ. This is our only chance to do this. We are also to affect the souls of others in Christlike fashion without harming or abusing the soul of another person. Jesus died as part of God's plan for saving the people of this world. Many men have died for causes, good and bad. Dying for a cause is no more glorous in God's eyes than going to wash your hands unless it is for His purpose. Men do many things for their own glory out of lack of knowledge or a belief they have developed. But only one has died for all of mankind becasue He alone was pure and acceptable before God as a sacrifice for all. Trying to convince others to accept Christ is useless. His Spirit alone can do this. We speak the word of the gospel, show our love for Christ by our actons, pray for other souls and God will take care of the rest. The gospel is not a marketing tool to get people to heaven. It is the way to heaven. People of other cultures and religions feel as strongly as we do about thier beliefs. Going beyond prayer and simple presentation of the truth most often spreads resentment when talking to others about Christ. |
