2 | Prepare to open your heart in prayer... | John 17:1 | Makarios | 12684 | ||
Hello hgwill! Jesus truly gives us the "High Priestly Prayer" here in John 17... "17:1-26 John 17 records the true “Lord’s Prayer” (in contrast to the “model prayer” of Matt 6:9-13; Luke 11:2-4). This is the longest recorded prayer of the Savior and is usually called “the Lord’s High Priestly Prayer.” Having voiced a triumphant declaration in 16:33, “I have overcome the world,” Jesus proceeds to pray for: (1) Himself (17:1-5), (2) His apostles (17:6-19), and (3) future believers (17:20-26)."
