thanks Steve, i appreciate that, but "god refers to god" ? im not sure what you mean, but like in Exodus 20 where it says you shall have no gods before me, clearly god does not always mean thee God - thank you

Hello JimmyHen, You are correct that not every reference to "god" is speaking of the one true God. However the verse is referencing synagogues which would only be used by Jews, therefore the "god" in question must be the God of the Jews (i.e. the Lord God Almighty, creator of heaven and earth). Steve, thank you, i appreciate that, however a synagogue represents a gathering place, for example, we Christians call it a church, and muslims call it a mosque, now, clearly Jesus is giving a prophecy of something that is going to happen, thats what a prophecy is, its hard to understand im sure, but when Jesus speaks, watch out, he dont speak vanities my friend, i guarantee it, his words are not small, when he speaks, he speaks big, and when Jesus gives us this warning in John 16:2 he is talking to you and to me, get it? he is not just talking to characters in a book, this aint fantasy island where nothing is real, and we're just looking at a pretty story where good overcomes evil, this is reality, this is the truth, and these things are happening today, personally i think too many people who claim to know Jesus show not fear and reverence to him and his words, what Jesus spoke two thousands years ago stands for all time, can you say that about yourself?

Hello JimmyHen, A synagogue is a gathering place for Jews, therefore the persecutors and murders Jesus spoke of were fellow Jews. He was speaking of their lives after he left. Steve |
