1 | Is Jesus really God? | John 14:7 | Makarios | 10271
Greetings brother Ben! You believe that the Father sent His one and only Son (John 3:16-17) to die for our sins, right? You also believe that the Son sent the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, only 10 days after His ascension (Acts 2)? Just curious.. :) Blessings dear brother! Nolan |

2 | Is Jesus really God? | John 14:7 | Ben M | 10287
Absolutely, for it states (Acts 2:4) "All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them". Tongues equals languages. The miracle to speak these other languages was given to preach Jesus's message to the "God fearing Jews from every nation" (Acts 2:5) because the New Testament had not yet been written, let alone translated to all the native languages stated (Acts 2:9-11). As disciples, we too are filled with the Holy Spirit (God's own Spirit), and it’s this which prompts and guides us on our walk with God. So brother Nolan, a question for you, what is your conviction speaking in tongues and the laying of hands? again just curious.. :-) Love in Christ Ben |

3 | Is Jesus really God? | John 14:7 | Makarios | 10294
Greetings Brother Ben! Actually, I've never spoken in tongues! :) But I have other gifts, such as the gift of encouragement and teaching that some here can attest to (I am in no wise a brand new member of the Study Bible Forum).. :) However, I do believe that the gifts of tongues and of laying on of hands are legitimate gifts that a believer could have today, even though I do not possess these gifts! Love in Christ! Nolan! |
