1 | Could "me" be John? | John 14:6 | Greg Ventura | 47555
Could "me" be John? I am at a loss for how to respond to someone who says that in the phrase "no one comes to the Father except through Me," John is referring to himself not Jesus. I think it is very clear. The quotes would have ended after the word life, if John started talking.
2 | Could "me" be John? | John 14:6 | Makarios | 47576
Greetings Greg, Jesus is the One who is saying the words, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." John is not speaking in John 14:6. Jesus is the One who is speaking in John 14:6. Therefore, Jesus is who the word "Me" is referring to. I think that that is very clear, and unmistakable, if you can read and understand modern English. Blessings to you, Makarios |

3 | Could "me" be John? | John 14:6 | Greg Ventura | 47700
I would have thought it was very clear as well. The frightening part is that it is a priest that belives this. I was wondering if there is some controversy over the translation. Thanks again.
4 | Could "me" be John? | John 14:6 | Ray | 50679
Hi Greg Ventura, Your priest friend is trying to put a lower case "me" in a mix with the words of Jesus and His "I am" statement. I would say that not only is a man such as John not spoken of here, but the man Jesus is not either. The Man Jesus, God Himself, the Way, the Truth, and the Life is speaking here. There is no place for a lower case pronoun anywhere in the sentence. From the heart, Ray |
