I have some ideas about this, but I would like other input. If a person has never had access to the gospel, would he still have a chance of going to Heaven?

The tense in Col 1:23 is "being preached" "proclaimed" every creature in the world has been or will hear the Gospel. Col 1:12-29 1. To whom it was preached: To every creature under heaven (v. 23), that is, it was ordered to be preached to every creature, Mark 16:15. It may be preached to every creature; for the gospel excludes none who do not exclude themselves. More or less it has been or will be preached to every nation, though many have sinned away the light of it and perhaps some have never yet enjoyed it. (from Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible: New Modern Edition, Electronic Database. Copyright (c) 1991 by Hendrickson Publishers, Inc.) Mark 16:15 5 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. KJV NT:2784 usso (kay-roos'-so); of uncertain affinity; to herald (as a public crier), especially divine truth (the gospel): KJV - preacher (-er), proclaim, publish. 6 | Where does the Bible say all have heard? | John 14:6 | Morant61 | 44615
Greetings Arnie! I hate to be nit picky, but the word 'preached' in Col. 1:23 is not a present tense. It is an Aorist, Passive, Participle and would be translated - "which has been preached". Good post though my friend! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

7 | Where does the Bible say all have heard? | John 14:6 | ChristLifer2001 | 44616
Brother Tim, Just an interesting side note: Rev 14:6 records that John saw an angel flying in the mid-heavens preaching an eternal gospel to all those who live on the earth, to every nation and tribe and tonge and people. It is interesting that I have heard most of my life that Christ cannot return until the gospel is preached to the whole earth. Of course Matthew 28 seems to give us this "great comission." But it also seems that God Himself completely fulfills this prophecy just before the six bowls of wrath are poured out and the subsequent battle of Armageddon when our Lord returns. Just a side note. Enjoy your blessings in Christ, ChristLifer2001 |

Greetings ChristLifer2001! Thanks for the note! It would be a good addition to the thread where others were discussing if people can be saved after the rapture! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Thanks Tim for that thought! I posted this somehwere but here it is for you to consider: After prayerful consideration and much study of this passage I have come to the conclusion (MINE) that the opportunity to be saved DOES exist after to Rapture of the Church right up until the Second Coming of Christ. I am basing this opinion upon 2 Peter 3:8-10 " The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. . ." This advent is the Second Coming, not the Rapture of the Church! Sadly, those individuals, who are part of God's elect, that "miss the Rapture" will suffer greatly during this time of His wrath. It is reasonable to believe that all, except the 144,000 witnesses that are Divinely "sealed" by God, will die. ("Blessed are those who die in the Lord from now on for they will rest from their trials." see below) God comforts them in this passage: “The people who are destined for prison will be arrested and taken away. Those who are destined for death will be killed. But be not dismayed, for here is your opportunity to have endurance and faith." Rev 13:10 Rev. 14:12- 13 “Let this encourage God’s holy people to endure persecution patiently and remain firm to the end, obeying His commands and trusting in Jesus. Blessed are those who die in the Lord from now on . . . for they will rest from all their toils and trials; for their good deeds follow them.” In Mt 24:13 Jesus also said, “But those who endure to the end will be saved.” (However I don't believe this means being saved from physical death!) What must one do “to endure” or to be “victorious over the beast”? Rev 15:2 1. Obey the Lord's commands – be a testimony for Jesus, proclaim the Word of God (Rev. 20:4) 2. Do not worship the beast or his statue. 3. Do no accept his mark on the forehead or hand. After Jesus returns to earth, those who remain unrepentant will be trampled in the winepress of God’s wrath. (Rev. 19:15) At this point I agree that the opportunity to be saved is over. We read throughout Revelation that "those who were perishing" or "on their way to destruction" refused to repent even though they were warned! So be it! I find that when I cannot understand something, trusting in God's sovereignty is the ultimate answer. He says, "What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion." It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy." Romans 9:14-16 He chooses us! Praise His name! Mommapbs |
