1 | Jesus is the truth | John 14:6 | Lionstrong | 6503
This verse is no more a definition of the word "truth" than is 1 John 4:8 a definition of love. John 14:6 teaches that Jesus is the truth. It does not teach that the truth is Jesus. |

2 | Jesus is the truth | John 14:6 | Ray | 29898
Hi Lionstrong, I agree with you that God is love and not Love. But in John 14:6 we have the words "I am...no one comes to the Father but through Me." If we are going to capitalize "through Me" then it would make sense to capitalize Way, Truth, and Life. Later, Ray P.S. Perhaps we can talk about whether "God is Light" also.
3 | Jesus is the truth | John 14:6 | Lionstrong | 29920
Hi Ray Thanks for your response, but I'm not seeing what your point is, Ray. You write,"If we are going to capitalize "through Me" then it would make sense to capitalize Way, Truth, and Life." What difference would the capitalization make? My point was that the verse does not teach that the definition of truth is Jesus. Peace, Lionstrong |
