1 | What happens to Non-Christians? | John 14:6 | TruthSeeker | 1703
What happens to people of other religions after they die or at the second coming of Jesus? (Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, etc...) If a person was raised a Buddhist their whole life and followed all the ways of Buddha, and maybe even knew of Jesus but did not accept him, and then died, what would happen to him?
2 | What happens to Non-Christians? | John 14:6 | SLSaltsman | 1704
One of the difficult things about Christianity in our tolerant culture today is its exclusivity. Many today ask what Pilot asked, "What is truth?" Only a person who is guilty of sin will be condemned to Hell (Ezekiel 18;19; Romans 6:23). Only through Jesus Christ can one who has sinned go to Heaven. God in His grace has provided one way to satisfy His justice. The person who has never heard of Christ will be judged by what he does know to be right and wrong (Romans 2 and 3). The problem is that everyone who reaches adulthood DOES sin. We choose to rebel and transgress or miss the mark. When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, they were separated from God-THAT day they DIED. Sin accomplishes the same effect in the life of anyone. The soul that sins shall die (be separated from God). When a person sins, he/she needs a resurrection, a new life! When a repentant beleiver is baptized (immersed) into Christ then he is... ...baptized INTO Christ (Romans 6:1-11, et al) ...buried and resurrected with Him (Romans 6:1-11; Colossians 2:12) ...circumsized (brought into the covenant) (Col. 2:11) ...clothed with Christ - ready for the wedding feast! (Galatians 3:27) ...forgiven (Acts 2:38; 22:16) ...calls upon the name of the Lord (Acts 2:21,38) If all these things are true, then what is the sinner's circumstance OUTSIDE of Jesus Christ? "All authority has been given unto Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore and make disciples of all peoples..."(Matthew 28:18-20) God bless you as you cultivate an obvious concern and love for the lost. Pray that the Lord of the Harvest will send forth laborers into the harvest for indeed the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. |

3 | Salvation in other religions? | John 14:6 | TruthSeeker | 1717
I'm not up-to-date on the other religions so please forgive my ignorance but do the other religions also teach a salvation story? I know one of them teaches that if you do good, you'll be reincarnated to a higher level - whatever that means. I assume there must be a final "salvation" level they strive to attain. I know we are told to go make disciples of all peoples but when I try to look at it in reverse and if a Hindu (or whaterver) came up to me and told me their way was the only true path, I would find it hard to believe. Mostly because I was brought up in a Christian environment and have studied the bible and believe what it says. I assume that the Hindu would also find it hard to accept Jesus because of how they have been raised and come to believe through their own studies of their "bible". Couldn't it be possible that God is much bigger than we imagine and have provided multiple paths to Heaven - or maybe different Heavens based on what the individual believes? I base this thought mostly on our Bible teaching that God is a loving God and we are told many times to love God and each other. |

4 | Salvation in other religions? | John 14:6 | SpreadWord | 1728
John 14:6 makes it clear what the standard is. God does not contradict His Word. He does not provide "multiple paths to Heaven" or else Jesus died in vain. It took the sacrifice of Christ to redeem us from sin because nothing else would do.
