1 | studing mormon | John 14:6 | EdB | 225603
Mormons worship Jesus Christ but not the Jesus Christ of Christianity. The Jesus they worship is the son of Elohim. Elohim was a man that they believed lived on another planet and lived a good life. In that life he sealed his wife and when he died he was given the planet Earth to rule. He and his wife made spirit babies, then they took human form once again and became Adam and Eve. As they had babies the spirit babies they first had infilled the human babies. Elohim's first two spirit babies were named Jesus and Satan. Jesus and Satan became enemies and Elohim favors Jesus. So you see the Jesus Mormons worship is not the only begotten son of God almighty but rather the spirit brother of Satan. Stay away from mormonism it sounds good because it was conceived of man and as such answers all of man's questions. However they are man's answers and not God's. |

Hello legs, I can understand that what your friend says might "make sense". However, making sense is not necessarily Biblical truth! While we are all created by God, we are certainly not all children of God nor brothers or sisters of Jesus in a relational sense! Not at all. This may be Mormon theology but it's not Biblical theology! Christianity is a relationship with the living God as revealed through scripture (the Bible) and the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ! Consider these points: 1. Only those who know Christ are truly His children! John 1:12 tells us, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name," (NASB) 2. Those who do not know Christ are not His and are condemned. John 3:18 clearly states, "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." 3. Salvation is found nowhere else but in the person and work of Jesus Christ. As Goldsworthy notes, "If the biblical story is true, Christ is the only savior for humankind and there is room for no other way to God!" John 14:6 tells us "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

4 | more help please, about mormons | John 14:6 | legsrandall | 225607
thanks for helping me.....as it is...I sometimes call myself "just a dumb ole girl" honestly I'm not that dumb...but i sort of am that dumb ole girl when it comes to scripture...having told you this let me add.. I dont know much, but i know Jesus saved me.. so...when I tried to tell my mormon friend about what i have read thus far, here in this message site., my friend totally turned off.. especially when i said "mormans were a cult"..my friend refused to listen..(as well i would have done if anybody tried to tell me i was learning from a cult),, (i'm baptist). I need some more help with showing my friend (in a gentle way) he needs to get away from that morman church.. i could chapter and verse him till the cows come home but since i dont know chapter and verse myself and he probably wouldnt go read them if i gave them to him .. Please try to help me get him to understand with words we use today.. like from the 21st century...AND yes i want help from all of you..Thanks P.S. I know I don't need to know every detail (or) even anything) in the bible..as long as I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for me..and through Him I am saved John 3:16.. I know some stuff from the bible but not enough to get my mormon point across ...C

Has your mormon friend done his mission yet? If so, you've got a well-trained person on your hands. A mormon who has completed or is in the midst of their mission is very difficult to debate. Unless one is at least equally well-versed in the Word of God, they'll get you every time - they are prepared for just about any argument you can think of, except the one I'm about to suggest. This one method that can stop them in thier tracks will cost you time and research - look up several non-Messianic prophecies and show their fulfillment in secular sources, i.e. an historian or encyclopedia. Then look up several Messianic prophecies, along with those fulfillments, secular as well as biblical sources. Then ask your friend to do the same with his "bible." He won't be able to do it. (P.S. You can google biblical prophecy and Messianic prophecies, and you can probably find the secular citations of the fulfillments online as well.) (P.P.S. If nothing else, this exercise will edify yourself as you grow in the knowledge of the Scriptures.) |
