Hi basbudy, I assuming that you're referring to either John 14:14, James 4:2 or 1 John 5:15? "If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it." "..You do not have because you do not ask." "And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him." It is in Gods' timing that we receive what we ask. Scripture doesn't specifically or definitively give us a time-frame in which to expect to receive. I believe that's why Phil. 4:6 was written: "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." The "why" for this is given in the next verse: "And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." We might ask, Isn't the peace of God "receiving what we ask for?" I hope this helps, BradK |
