2 | John 12:31 and Rev. 12:7-17 same event? | John 12:31 | HeirofGod | 2494
No. Jesus was talking about Salvation coming to the world so that satan's power in it will be cast out through him. Before Jesus and Salvation satan had control over what went on here since God could not come in without being born legally into this world. That's what's going on in John. Jesus is telling them that He is getting ready to do away with sin and give authority over satan to all those who accepts salvation. In Rev.12:7-17 this is the war between satan and his angels and Michael and the other war angels. This is after the rapture and before the Glorious Appearing of Christ to rule on earth. Here satan is being defeated and cast out of the second heaven to earth. Right now satan can roam in the second heaven unlimitedly. Then he will be cast to earth to suffer with the unjust humans.
3 | Scriptural answers for John 12:31? | John 12:31 | Hugger | 2665
Thank you for your opinion, HeirofGod. I would like to hear from others in the forum...this is interesting and I am sure there are other viewpoints out there. I have no scriptures to back it up but I always thought that the verse there in John was talking about what would happen in heaven when Jesus was on the cross. Can anyone else give me scripture to enlighten the one in John 12:31?

I would tend to agree with your interpretation, Hugger, see John 16:11. The Holy Spirit comes to convict the world of judgement because the ruler has been judged, so by the time the apostles received the Holy Spirit, this scripture indicates that GOD's judgement of satan was complete. As for Rev. 12, this will happen during the Tribulation (at least that my interpretaion). And, if I am missing the point on Rev. 12, I didn't take much time to study the passage before answering. My focus was on Jn 16. Please, correct me if I'm wrong! Thanks, and GOD bless!! |
