Reading John 10 I belive that the false shepherds in the Old Testament and the false shepherds were similar in John 10, They didn't believe Jesus, even when Jesus told them and showed them how He was working for His Father. They just didn't want to believe.Lost souls they were. |

Hi sweet, "This figure of speech Jesus spoke to them, but they did not understand what those things were which He had been saying to them." John 10:6 May I give you verses to compare? I offer this "for what it is worth" because I will capitalize some pronouns that are not traditionally capitalized. l) John 9:41, "(Jesus) said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no sin; but since you say, 'We see', your sin remains." John 10:9, "(I) am the door;..." 2) John 10:1, "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door...is a thief and a robber." John 10:9, "...if anyone enters through Me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." 3) John 10:2, "But He who enters by the door is a shepherd of the sheep." John 10:10, "The thief comes only to steal, and kill, and destroy; I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly." 4) John 10:3, "To Him the doorkeeper opens,..." John 10:11, "I am the good shepherd." 5) John 10:3b, "...and the sheep hear His voice,..." John 10:11b, "...the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep." 6) John 10:3c, "...and He calls His/ own sheep by name, and leads them out. When He puts forth all HIS OWN, (He) goes before them,..." John 10:14, "I am the good shepherd, and I/ know My own, and MY OWN know (Me),..." I offer these verses to compare, but actually I look at them as a contrast between "His own" and "My own". Oh that all people would get to know (Him) and see Him for who He is. From the heart, Ray |
