Psalms 82:1-8 "God is stationing himself in the assembly of the Divine One*; In the middle of the gods** he judges: "How long will YOU keep on judging with injustice And showing partiality to the wicked themselves? Be judges for the lowly one and the fatherless boy. To the afflicted one and the one of little means do justice. Provide escape for the lowly one and the poor one; Out of the hand of the wicked ones deliver [them]." They have not known, and they do not understand; In darkness they keep walking about; All the foundations of the earth are made to totter. 3 | What does "gods" mean here? | John 10:34 | Ray | 127545
Hi DBR, For Psalm 81:1 your New World Translation has five pronouns of Deity in it. The NASB has four pronouns of Deity, the NKJ has two pronouns of Deity, and personally I would lean toward three pronouns of Deity. Do you see Jesus in these pronouns at all? Who is it that will judge in the midst of the gods? How do you look at Psalm 81:9? "Let there be no strange god among you; Nor shall you worship any foreign god." From the heart, Ray |

4 | What does "gods" mean here? | John 10:34 | DBR | 127560
As I read the Psalm it is the God of the JEWS talking to them and about them warning then to stay away from the gods of the surounding nations and the good and the bad they have or could do, and a lot more there also. DBR |

Hi DBR, Sorry about the typing error in that I meant my questions for you to be in regard to Psalm 82:1. As far as this Psalm being for the Jews, does that mean that I as a Gentile am allowed to have a strange god? Am I allowed to worship a god? From the heart, Ray |
