1 | Can I use this for giving? | John 10:26 | buffalo1 | 220533
I understand the sheep to be the saved, the righteous who listened to the call of the shepherd, and fed the hungry, etc. whereas, the goat is stubborn, resisting the shepherd following. I wanted to fit this in with giving. We want to be on the right side as sheep who have fed the hungry, etc. because the way we treat others is the way we treat Jesus. Jesus loves the people so greatly that he likens it being done to himself. Is this correct? |

2 | Can I use this for giving? | John 10:26 | DocTrinsograce | 220534
Dear Buffy1, The sheep behave differently than the goats, not in order to be sheep, but because they are fundamentally different creatures. The behavior of each arises out of their nature. No amount of giving -- or any other behavior -- will change the fundamental characteristics of the lost and the saved. (See Matthew 7:16-20; 19:24-26; Ephesians 1:3-5) You would not want to tell people they can be acceptable to God by doing something. Scripture just doesn't bare that out. Rather, you would want to say to people, if they really understand what God has done in redemption, they will give all that they can to Him. Please read Luke 7:36-50. In Him, Doc |
