I have been challenged that unconditional love is not specifically referres to in the Bible. I can find unfialing and I know that agape is perfect love but the word we have used in Christian circles for so long does not seem to appear. Anyone have thoughts on this? THANK YOU in advance !
2 | Where is *unconditional* love ? Verse? | Luke 6:27 | bjh | 146281
The phrase "unconditional love" is not in the Bible. However, the same can be said for "trinity" which believers hold to without question. The word "trinity" may not be in Scripture, but the concept definitely is. Back to the issue at hand...unconditional love. Consider how Jesus describes love in Luke 6:27-38. Love someone no matter what they do to you. John 3:16. God so loved the world. Why? What did the world do? They killed His Son, Jesus Christ. What was His love based on? While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom 5:8) This is unconditional love. |
