1 | Why we need to worship God? | Luke 4:8 | Need of Insight | 108743
My questions about the bible are sicere, and they deal with the God as revealed to us by the bible and the Catholic roman church. I just want you to know that I am christian, and recent events in my life have caused me to ask me this questions. First of all.., I am troubled by the notion that God needs to be worshiped. How can a God that created everything, that IS everyhing, the begining and the end, the alfa and the omega. If there isent a single thing that is not God, how such a God would need to be worshiped, and its laws obeyed or it will give you a punishment that is worst that everything we can imagine. I mean, how can it affect a perfect God, a God that is everything, what we do or stop doing?. Why would he give us such a punishemnt(Hell) for things that can not affect him. I mean, does the punishment help right the wrong? no. Does it acomplish something other than teach you were wrong in life? No. I think only a cruel God would do such a thing. Also, why does he need to worshiped?. We have nothing that God needs because he dosent need everything, or he would not be perfect and allmighty. Our worships therefore cannot give him anything. I might even say that if God is omnipotent and if there is nothing that God does not have, whatever our actions, our "blasfemys" can do nothing to God, therefore you can not insult God, and some of our notions need to be revised. I would apreciate your opinions on this. When you answer this question, please dont go complex if posible, try to remain simple and please understand that I am looking for answers, not critisism. Sorry about spelling errors, as english is not my first language. |

2 | Why we need to worship God? | Luke 4:8 | Mommapbs | 108744
Greetings and welcome. I hope you get other replies from our members, if not re-post your question. Very simply, God does not NEED our worship; WE NEED to worship Him. Why? Aside from the fact that He said so, when we worship Him, we focus our attention where He is and upon what He desires. And His will is ALWAYS with our very best in mind! I hope this encourages you in your search. "know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind; for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever." 1 Chron 28:9 Blessings, mommapbs |

3 | reject God ad free will? | Luke 4:8 | Need of Insight | 108788
Very wise words. I liked your answer. One question.. how can it be that if you reject God, it forsekes you forever. I mean, God is not affected if you reject or accept him, because he needs nothing. So, why the terrible punishment if you reject him. Seems very cruel. His greatest gift to us was free will, but if you put the rules like that, there isent much room left for free will. Mainly, you have 2 free choices, either accept God and go to heaven, or dont and go to hell, but God is not afected either way. So, seems to me theres only a smart or good choice and a stupid or bad choice, so theres no room left for free will. Its kind of a spiritual suicide, you can choose to keep on living, or die forever.. not much of a choise. What do you think?. |

4 | reject God ad free will? | Luke 4:8 | Mommapbs | 108796
Greetings! Yes, God is affected by our choices! God loves us (John 3:16) and His desire is for none of us to live apart from Him (2 Peter 3:9) - He grieves that we reject His love.(Gen 6:6) He is a jealous God;(Ex 20:5;34:14) He longs for us to return His love - a love that is focused upon Him alone.(Mt 22:37) The human relationship of marriage is a picture of the type of relationship that God desires from us - a union that is characterized by mutual love and faithfulness. We were made made by and for God - for our mutual love and enjoyment. When man rejected God in the Garden, sin entered and spoiled our relationship with Him. God has sought to restore this relationship with man since that day! Because of sin, man could never meet God's standard of holiness that was required for our restoration. So until Christ, man has lived an alienated existence with his Creator. Those who God accepts into His eternal rest are those who have believed Him. They can DO nothing to earn this grace; it is a free gift. (Eph 2:8-9) Nothing has changed, we are still saved by grace on the basis of our faith - faith in God and what HE has and done and promised. Read Hebrews 11. Abraham believed God and it was creditied to him as righteousness - this means that God gave him "right standing" (even though he weas a sinner)on the basis of his faith. Abraham had a choice: he could believe or reject God. He had free will just like we do. God's greatest gift to us was not free will - it is Jesus Christ and His gift of grace, God's unmerited favor toward us. (See Romans 5; 2 Cor 9:15) We can either accept Christ's substitutionary death on the cross for our sins or we can try to please God in our own way. Please read 1 John. (the whole book!) Indeed we have the freedom of choice! I agree, when we know the terms or the consequences of our choices,it sure seems to be a no-brainer, so why do so many people reject God's awesome offer of salvation? Romans 1 gives some insight into this. The problem for man is pride - this ugly choice remains the same to day as it was in the Garden. We have a choice: God's Way (John 14:6) or our way . . . there is a way that SEEMS RIGHT (emphasis mine) to man, but the end thereof is death!(Prov 14:12) I can appreciate the questions that you have, but I also want to remind you to not let the volume of your thinking drown out what God is saying to you through His Word. Please read the references that have been provided and ask God to reveal Himself to you. "TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS." Heb 4:7 "Seek the LORD while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near." Is 55:6 Blessings, mommapbs |
