I'm not sure what you mean by way don't we follow the same custom? Most church do have a scripture reading every Sunday. In some churches the elders of the church take turns Sunday reading the selected scripture for the week. I would say if you are attending a church that does not have a scripture reading each Sunday service you may want to suggest such to your Pastor and perhaps offer to volunteer to read it from time to time. |

4 | Why don't we follow Luke 4:16 | Luke 4:16 | EdB | 233413 | ||
Oh your not concerned with reading of scriptures only which day is the Sabbath. That answer is easy Saturday is the Sabbath and was the day the Jews went to synagogue. Sunday the resurrection day is the day Christians worship on. Sabbath was a day of rest and Jesus is the rest giver. Our rest comes in and through Jesus. Thus Jesus fulfilled the Sabbath for all those that believe in Him. Our worship of God is to be endless and constant but we set aside a day to gather together as admonished in Hebrews. That day was set by the early Christians and has been kept ever since. |
