1 | How can God (Jesus) increase in wisdom? | Luke 2:52 | John Reformed | 47528
Dear Nate, I was not aware of any "friction" between us. If you felt offended by anything I wrote, believe me it was unintentional. As far as our dicussion is concerned, I do not consider the question of the nature of God to be a foolish controversy. Who we believe Jesus is may make the difference on where you or I spend eternity!!! Mormans claim to believe in Jesus, but they believe Him to be the brother of Lucifer (Satan). They have a different Jesus and unless God opens there eyes they will perish. Feel free to post me anytime you wish. I still do not know who you believe Jesus is.(check out trinity in the quick search) John John |

2 | How can God (Jesus) increase in wisdom? | Luke 2:52 | nate2go | 47544
I believe Jesus is the Christ. The SON of the living God. Who will one day sit at the right hand of the Father, and will rule all the earth as it is written in the bible. I believe He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. I belive Jesus is the true vine, and His Father is the Gardener who will cut off every branch in Him that does not bear fruit. (John 15:1). I believe Christ is the way and the truth, and the life. And that no one can come through the Father except through Him. (John 14:6) I DON'T believe in the triune god theory (I once read that this theory was once a pagan belief). But most of all, I believe the words of Jesus just as they are written. I don't try to give my interpretation of what it means. If Jesus says, "the Father is greater than I", then I believe THAT's what He meant. If he's says, "Only the Father knows, not even the Son knows", then I believe THAT's what He meant. I also believe that you and I can go on, and on, and on, and on, about this subject, and what we believe will still be the same today, tomorrow, and 2 years from now. You wrote, "As far as our dicussion is concerned, I do not consider the question of the nature of God to be a foolish controversy." My answer to that is the nature of God is NOT foolish, but our trying to convince each other of what we believe, is. So let me make this very, very, clear to you so that you are not confused anymore about what I believe. Here goes, "I do NOT believe in the concept of the trinity. And unless the Holy Spirit convinces me other wise (and let me reinterate what I just said, THE HOLY SPIRIT), I will continue to believe that Jesus is just the Son of God, who is loved by the Father, since the beginning of time. Have a blessed day! |

Dear Nate, When my Jehovah Witness neighbors deny the deity of Christ by saying he is the SON of God, not God, I explain to them that a son always shares the nature of his father. If a giraffe has a son, will it have the nature of a hippopotamus? If an ape has a son, will it be a dog? If a man has a son, will he have the nature of a bird? Jesus is both the son of man and the Son of God. He has both a true and full human nature and a true and full divine nature. He is truly God and truly man. The Pharisees understood his claim, but because they didn’t believe it was true, they wanted to stone him for blasphemy. And of course, if Jesus' claim to be God’s Son was not true, the Pharisees were right in wanting to put him to death for blasphemy. The Pharisees understood what Jesus meant when he said he was the Son of God, and this is what I try to get my Witness friends to understand. Do you understand Jesus claim to be the Son of God, Nate? John 5:18 For this reason therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God. Peace, |
