I believe you just answered your own question. Colossians 1:15-16 The Supremacy of Christ He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. |

to nate2go I apreciate your response but either I don't understand your answer or you didn't understand my question. I'll try again. If Christ is God and God is all knowing, how can He increase in wisdom? Is Luke saying that Christ is not God? Is he saying God is not all knowing? I believe that Christ is God and that God is all knowing, so what is Luke trying to tell us here? bob r. |

3 | How can God (Jesus) increase in wisdom? | Luke 2:52 | srbaegon | 47155 | ||
Hello bob r. Christ can increase in wisdom because He took on flesh and blood. Jesus as fully God and fully man had to enter into all those things that are human. Hebrews 2:17 (ESV) Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. Note: "made like his brothers in every respect". And-- Hebrews 5:8 (ESV) Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. The knowledge and wisdom must have been experiental in His earthly walk. Steve |
