1 | The lost years of Jesus | Luke 2:51 | cmurphy | 18380
I was having a discussion with some friends this weekend and one of them mentioned the Lost Years of Jesus. I unfortunately had never heard of this concept. I have done some basic research on the topic and basically the lost years says that Jesus went to the Far East to study other religions from the age of 12 to 32. If anyone has heard of this before can you give me reasons why this is true or why it is not true? I would greatly appreciate any help with this topic. Chris |

2 | The lost years of Jesus | Luke 2:51 | Searcher56 | 18381
Chris, Greetings and welcome. Brahmanistic historians record of of His pilgrimmage from Jerusalem to Benares, from the age of 13 to 29. He was both student and teacher. He mastered Hindu and Buddhist scriptures, learned to heal and to cast out devils, and prepared for his Palestinian mission. Today they still know him and love him as St. Issa, their 'buddha'. The reason it is not true, is that He returned to Nazareth and was obedient to His parents. That meant staying home. Plus, the Bible doesn't say that He went anywhere. Verse 52 says, "Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men." God has one way, His way. Hope this answers your question. Steve |
