1 | What if they knew what they wee doing? | Luke 23:34 | Mommapbs | 105452
Consider this request of Jesus,"Father forgive them for they know not what they are doing." I'm wondering about His statement. If they knew that Jesus IS God, would they have crucified Him? AND . . . If they knew what they were doing, would they still be forgiven because of His atoning death? |

Mommapbs, Clearly, there were those who thought that they knew what they were doing! Many times Jesus was checked by the disciples of the Masters of the Law, the Sadusees, and Pharasees. They were amazed when Jesus stated that they were blind leaders; but they did not allow the Spirit of God to lead them to the Truth! In John 1:10-13 this question is answered; they clearly did not know Him. Paul emphazised this on 1 Corinthians 2:8--clearly they were blinded by the Truth; I mean to say Satan using the Truth as he did in the Garden of Eden: "surely you will not die..." |

Greetings - you didn't answer the question! But Jesus was saying, "Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing." 4 | What if? | Luke 23:34 | Searcher56 | 105466
I have asked this question is another way ... what if you were one of the Roman soldiers and were a Christian, what would you do? I think our Lord would say "You must crucify Me, so that you and others would live" ... I would have a hard time as I would strike the blow(s) ... with tears in my eyes as I knelt before my Lord. Words may be hard ... I'd reamin kneeling before Him on the cross - even if I would die. |

Yes Searcher, I have considered that, but consider now the rejection of Christ - the rejection of God. If they willingly rejected Him, is there any forgiveness? mommapbs |

6 | What if? | Luke 23:34 | Searcher56 | 105485
There is forgiveness for killing Him ... but, not for rejecting Him. John 3:16-18 and other passages prove the latter.
