1 | John the Baptist and Jesus cousins? | Luke 1:13 | Searcher56 | 212327
God's day to you, Rolff, Most people think John the Baptist and Jesus were cousins. However, John's parents, Zachariah and Elizabeth, were not just Levites, from from Aaron (Luk 1:5). Jesus was from the tribe of Judah, even from David, through Joesph (Mat 1:6-16) and Mary (Luk 3:23-33). Now Mary and Elizabeth were relatives (Luk 1:36), suggenes in the Greek. Anepsios is a better word for cousin (Col 4:10). Even if Mary and Elizabeth were first cousins, it would be because their mothers were sisters ... making the closest relationship of John the Baptist and Jesus as second cousins. |

2 | John the Baptist and Jesus cousins? | Luke 1:13 | Searcher56 | 212329
