Dear Doc, It would not be a coincidence. Just last night (my time) I read of the monthly journal of Lutheran Theological Seminary which published some sharings made by the students who had finished their missionary trip to Indonesia (a country dominated by Muslim belief). One of the article titled "affliction" expressed the introspection of a student after he had the chance to have the first hand information and understanding about the persecution of the christians in Indonesia, the severe poverty, government corruption, etc. He said : [My translation] It is too easy and comfortable to be a christian in HK. Somehow, I am tempted to think I offer a lot for Christ just because I am called to study theology for future ministry. I can't help but truly ask myself 'What had I offered?" None! Nothing! I did not give anything, but just receiving...receiving the abundant grace of our God. If I were to face the same difficulties, will I still be faithful to my Lord? Awfully terrible that from the bottom of my heart, I shy away from the question. So touching...and convicting... Shalom Azure |

Dear Sister Azure, Thank you for sharing. That is, indeed, very touching. Our dear brother is walking out the joy of James 4:9 and 2 Corinthians 7:11. The hunger and thirst for righteousness -- gifted to the regenerate by the Holy Spirit -- will, indeed, be satisfied (Matthew 5:6; John 7:37; Revelation 7:16-17). In Him, Doc PS No, not a coincidence at all! :-) |
