Repentance is having a change of mind about the direction you are going. To repent from sin is to have a change of mind about to sin. But changing your mind must be followed by changing your walk. You cannot walk the Christian life on your own. You must have the power of the Holy Spirit indwelling you. This comes from realizing you are a sinner separated from God and that Jesus Christ, His Son, came to save you from your sins. You repent (change your mind) and ask Him to take control of your life. You confess your sin to Him and ask Him to take your sins away. When you are water baptized, you are giving the outward sign of what has already happened to the inward person. You have become a brand new creation in Christ Jesus. Now, you want to show that in word picture form. Romans 6 talks about how we are baptized into His death, burial, and raised up to NEWNESS OF LIFE. It is your testimony to others that you are NOT ashamed. It is completely identifying yourself with Him. In the Greek, the word is described as a white cloth being dipped in red dye and then taking on the color of the red dye. The Bible says we will be clothed in Jesus. He becomes our complete identity. Do you need Scripture references for all of this? Will you email me at DoggieGrace@msn.com ..... I would love to talk to you more about it. God bless you! |

I do not know what is going on in other religions. But Gods way, is to be born with the hope of eternal life. Not to be born to give up your life to others. To live to a ripe old age.And when death comes to hope for a blissful awakening. If you lived a righteous life. When little children get abused and grow up in an unhealthy manner. They are victims. Victims dont have to worry. Is the abuser that has to worry. God considers them Demons. So sometimes your sins are the fault of others. And that is why God forgives. But he wont forgive those who intentionally make others sin. |

3 | Aren't we all accountable for our sins | Luke 13:3 | stjones | 43606 | ||
Hi, Jdth; Can you cite a passage that says "sometimes your sins are the fault of others"? It's true that Jesus warned against leading "one of these little ones who believe in me to sin" (Matthew 18:6). But he didn't say that the little ones would transfer responsibility for their sin to the one who misled them. We are all accountable. Fortunately God is faithful to forgive no matter what has happened to us in the past. Is there a passage that says God "won't forgive those who intentionally make others sin"? The only unforgivable sin in the Bible is blaspheming the Holy Spirit. (Mark 3:9) Otherwise, God stands ready to forgive any sin. Peace and grace, Steve aka Indiana Jones |

Hey Steve I agree with you and the Scriptures agree with you. We are all responsible for our own sins. Causing someone else to sin is a wicked thing as Christ taught us in Matthew chapter 18 but it is not unforgiveable anyone who says this is not reading the Bible "see Luke 17 1-6" for Christs teaching on offenses and forgiving your brother who sins against you in other words one who causes you to sin. I will quote James 3:1 as a teacher of Gods Word I stand under a greater and Stricter Judgement for being a Minister of the Word. If I being a teacher of The Bible says something that would cause a person to sin then I bring greater Judgment from God upon myself. As far as what this lady Judith says about A victim not being responsible for what they do as an adult because of abuse during childhood. I see where Romans 3:23 says all have sinned and fall short of Gods Glory. We all are responsible for our own actions after reaching an age of accountability. This may sound harsh but there is no scripture saying otherwise. We serve a merciful and gracious God but we tend to forget he is also a God of wrath and he passes righteous Judgements to his people and to sinners also. Our hope of salvation is in Christ He is the only way to Heaven and "all" sins will be forgiven by accepting his free Gift through Faith and repentence. The only thing he will not forgive us for is blasphemy of the Holy Ghost. More scriptures relating to this subject can be found in: (Mat 18:10-17,Mark 9:42,Luke 17:1-6 God Bless Harold |

Hi, Harold; Better to say that I/we agree with the Scriptures! ;-) Thanks for your reply. It does seem harsh. And it would be harsh if God were not the forgiving father that he is. Accountability would be unbearable if we had to bear it alone. But we don't Peace and grace, Steve aka Indiana Jones |
