1 | Why the eye? | Luke 11:34 | Burning Bush | 61351
Aspilos, I hope this will help. Mk 11:33-36 The unbelief of the Jews was not due to their lack of "signs," or evidence , but due to their own blindess.Light does little good for one with diseased eyes.Jesus is God's light, but their spiritual blindess kept them from seeing Him. Mk.11:34-- The eye is regarded as the lens of the soul and reflects the total oriention of one's life. The image of the "good eye" is coupled with that of a useful lamp(vs.33) Both images speak of the positive efect of true enlightenment. If a person is sincere in his desire to know whether Jesus is the Christ of God, then God will reveal it to him. but if his motives are not pure, if he wants to cling to his greed, if he continues to fear what others will say, then he is blinded to the true worth of the Savior. A bad or diseased eye will not see the light. Your friend in Christ BB

Thanks for your reply BB. I believe your reply was accurate, but I guess what I was wondering was whether the Lord was pointing out that the eye reveals something about the soul. For example, when someone is hateful it usually shows up in the eyes. Bendiciones! Aspilos |

Aspilos, The bible say's whatever is in the heart the mouth speaks. We should pray for things that aren't as though they were. If you know someone begin praying for that person and leave the results to God. Great hearing back from you . Have a blessed day. BB
