Dear H and T, I'll try to give you the highlights. It is fascinating to study the works of each Person of the Godhead, especially in salvation. The Holy Spirit was involved in creation (Genesis 1:2), and He communicated the Word of God (Micah 3:8; 2 Peter 1:21). He brought about the miracle of the Incarnation (Luke 1:35) and the miracle of the Resurrection (1 Peter 3:18). He works in the life of believers by regenerating us (John 3:8), giving us the gift of faith (John 6:45), illuminating (enables us to understand) the Word of God (John 14:26; Hebrews 10:32), helping us in our weakness (Romans 8:25-27), seals the believer (Ephesians 4:30), sanctifying us (1 Corinthians 6:11; 1 Peter 1:2), etc. I think I've covered the primary aspects of the Holy Spirit's work. You might want to do some research on the branch of theology called pneumatology. John Piper does a wonderful job of discussing this topic. In Him, Doc |
