1 | Mark 7:4 NASB skips couchs or beds, Why | Mark 7:4 | justme | 78892 | ||
Whomever asked about Mark 7:3 and why the NASB did not have "beds and couches" Lockman editorial board responded to this, in this way. "The phrase in question does not occur in the best and oldest Greek manuscripts. Also, late manuscripts that have phrase do not have "beds and couchs" but only the word "and" followed by one word which can be translated as "beds" or "couchs" (Greek "klinon"). I hope this helps in answering the question brought up in the forum. With peace to all. justme |

diciplerami:By "others" whom might that be? As this is trivial, but from the standpoint of being as accurate that a translator can be in the tranlsation of Scripture I believe it is important. If we cannot rely on the oldest manuscripts, do you have more confidence in a younger manuscript? To me this seems to be working from the wrong direction, and would result in a high possibility of many errors in the translation. The further we get from the orignal source, the more likely to have material that may have material copied incorrectly by mistake. There are many examples of in the past. What's your thoughts? justme |
