1 | A believer who smokes? | Mark 7:18 | Dadda | 124687
I smoke. I take this scripture as not an encouragement to smoke, but a grace that smoking will not defile me in the eyes of God. What are you opinions on a beleiver smoking? The arguement of love thy neighbor doesnt seem to fit either, considering the amount of pollution in the air in some places in the world is worse than smoke from a cigarette. The body is a temple yes, but isnt that the soul where God dwells? His laws are not written on our bodies, but on our hearts, and souls. I'm looking for opinions here on this subject if at all possible.

Sounds to me like your trying to justify something that has been proven to remove years from your life. Those years may not be important to you now but I assure you as you about to die you will wish you had a few more. But then it will be too late. God didn't tells us not to defile our bodies because He didn't want us to enjoy life. God told us the way that was best for us. You know all the arguements why you shouldn't smoke. You also know they are valid. Now you have to make a decision either quit smoking and feel and smell better, get rid of the smokers cough, learn what food really tastes like and save money or quit trying to justify your smoking and tell everyone around you, you want to die before your time. Nobody is buying your really trying to find answers in the Bible. EdB |
