1 | The 4th Commandment an Essential Link | Mark 2:27 | Lionstrong | 59444 | ||
The Fourth Commandment stands as a link between those commandments having to do with our love toward God and those of our love directed to man. For while the Fourth Commandment properly belongs not to our duty to man but to God, it was, nonetheless, made for the benefit of man. Thus it ties the two greatest commandments together, to love God and to love our neighbor. Because the Fourth Commandment serves as a link between the "two tablets of the Law" is another evidence in corroboration of its validity for the New Testament Israel. To say that only the other nine are operative destroys the link that ties the love of God and the love of man together. The Ten commandments are an unbreakable unity. Peace, |

It is also an essential baby step in faith. If you can't take a day of rest on faith because God asked you to do so, you what makes you think you could do something as hard as witness to someone because of the faith you have that God asked you. It is much harder to witness, let alone put a new roof on a widow's house than it is to take a day of rest to spend with God. |
