1 | Do we believe in the Gospel of Jesus? | Mark 16:16 | faith531 | 55333
I have been studying scriptures on how to be saved. What does it take to actually be saved according to God's word? He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved and he who believeth not shall be damned. The previous scripture in vs. 15 Jesus tells his disciples to go into all the world and preach the gospel. We must believe in this gospel to be saved. Okay, can someone give me scriptures that explains the Gospel of the kingdom. Jesus also states that signs will also follow those who believe; which are casting out devils, speaking with new tongues, taking up serpents and if they drink any deadly thing; it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. If these signs do not follow us, is it because we don't believe or we're not baptized? Can someone explain that to me?
2 | Do we believe in the Gospel of Jesus? | Mark 16:16 | Searcher56 | 55368
Scripture ... Mark 16:15ff; Acts 10:44-48, 16:30-31; Eph 2:8-10; Rom 10:9-14 ... faith531, greetings, Notice that Mark 16:16 does not say if you believe and aren't baptized, that you are damned. There are other passages that show that baptism does not save. Acts 10:44-48 is very clear. As for the signs ... these were temporal and limited to a few. Hope this helps, Searcher |
