So, would you join me if I decided to preach the Gospel here? As anywhere else, you can expect a lot of opposition, and even persecution. Whould you do it anyway? | ||||||

Hi, Aixen7z4! I don't quite follow you... has anyone attempted to censure your posts on this Forum? As far as I understand the rules preaching the Gospel is not forbidden. No one can indoctrinate into their personal congregation. No one can present anti-Christian arguments. No one can introduce any of the topics rejected by the Forum. But everyone is free to present the Scriptures. Everyone is free to respond to queries. Everyone is free to ask Biblical questions. We cannot change the format of this Forum. We can only work within the posted regulations. Personally I am affected by some of the language, screen names, and possitions of some of the members/visitors that frequent this Forum. But I ignore what I consider to be frivoluos, I challenge what seems to be anti-Christian rhetoric, and I question the posts I do not understand. Sometimes I may cause someone to think and to get hot and to become uncomfortable enough that they might feel persuaded to read the Bible more deeply or to truly search the Scriptures--my job is done! Sometimes there might be a person who is truly searching and has been mislead by the anti-God culture or some extremist views of the Scriptures... I give them the Bible as complete and as candid as I can without attempting to influence their denomenational identity. Here in this forum as well as on others I preach the Gospel--I do not try to make it into a sermon... I love the Scriptures and I attempt to instill that feeling onto others! God Bless! Angel |

Hi Angel: When I saw your note I checked to see how you have been here. I suppose it is difficult for you to understand what has happened before that time. Nevertheless, you seem to be answering some of your own questions. You wonder if any posts are censured. But now ask yourself why the following note has been posted below: It says, "Note to viewers: This thread has been temporarily restricted from appearing on the homepage…". Do you know why it is there? If you do, then that is fine. The important question is: Would you like to see it there if you are presenting the Gospel to someone? You say, “No one can indoctrinate into their personal congregation. No one can present anti-Christian arguments. No one can introduce any of the topics rejected by the Forum”. But only experience can teach you what these things mean and how the rules are enforced. I suggest that it is not good to pursue this discussion further. But I will simply say I am bothered by the way the simple, the uneducated, and the non-Christian are treated here. I read that few unsaved people come here. I wonder if people who are not saved are encouraged to be here and to ask the questions that might lead to their salvation. I wonder if you see in this very thread, the suggestion that the Gospel not be presented here. You say, “In this forum … I preach the Gospel--I do not try to make it into a sermon”, and I am not sure what you are saying. Are you saying that you present the Gospel but keep it short; a sermonette as opposed to a sermon? Anyways, I would encourage you to continue to try to present the Gospel. Try also to suggest practical applications for the word we are studying. If you do, and I hope you do, then be prepared to dodge the obstacles. |

Hi, Aixen7z4! " "Note to viewers:" I have wondered myself... some of the arguments that are closed are not openly hostile or sectarian--I guess that the moderators have had previous encounters with the material being present... "This thread has been temporarily restricted from appearing on the homepage…". " Point of view... it is such a simplistic phrase with sooooo much weight! I have been in forums where "Christians" spout racist ideologies guised in religious or patriotic fervor... I have been censured while speaking against boasting about arms... I have been gang-bashed for presenting a Biblical text... I have been interrogated about my personal religious beliefs... I have been ignored when asked to maintain a direct email connection ("to further our Bible Study")... I have been called ignorant because I believe that Christ is God! The underlining issue has always been "point of view!" I cannot make a statement on why this particular thread has been restricted--it would be nice to have a personal note sent by the operative explaining his/her action and why it had to be addressed in such format... that is another world, utopia I think they call it! "I am bothered by the way the simple, the uneducated, and the non-Christian are treated here" I share your sentiments... I have seen it here and in other forums... but I am not a monitor/moderator so I cannot impose rule upon those who I feel are being curt, condescending, and impatient. I can only strive to present a different perspective for the person posting their concerns. I must confess that when I read posts that openly contest Christ's Divinity my patience runs thin--I may respond in a confrontational manner but I use the Bible, not my personal religious beliefs, to counter the statements. We have to be cognizant of Jesus' Word: "Father I do not ask you to remove them from the world; I ask that you keep them save from the world." (Paraphrased) Though we will not find Heaven on earth, Jesus call is to obey Him and serve Him: "If your righteousness is not greater than the Masters of the Law, Sadducees, Pharisees, you cannot be my disciples." (again, paraphrased) "a sermonette" What I mean is that I do not attempt to sway the reader to join my denomination. I present the Gosple as clear and as candid as I can without introducing sectarianism bias. I pray to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, that His Word may be let known to the world, and that instruments such as you, myself, other members of this forum, and Biblical forums as this one, may be perfected through the Grace and Power of the Holy Spirit. God Bless! Angel |
