1 | No marriage b/c we are bride of Jesus? | Mark 12:25 | EdB | 233061
00123 You present some interesting ideas for thought but like you said we know very little about life in heaven since scriptures don't tell us much about heaven. We think of marriage perhaps differently than God did. Sex was for procreation and not so much to the extent of recreation we view it today. Families were needed to survive where today children are often looked at as necessary burdens. At one time the number of children increased the families chance of survival today many feel children impact survival and some even go as far as refusing to have any. Some view the passages you quoted as suggestting we will be asexual in heaven. I don't think that is necessarily true. However I suspect much of sexual differences we experience on earth will not be present in Heaven. |

2 | No marriage b/c we are bride of Jesus? | Mark 12:25 | 00123 | 233062
Ed, my question was not about sex, but I respectively disagree with you that sex was (mainly) for procreation. For example, Song of Songs shows that sex was a critical means to increase the depth of the relationship through mutual joy. Again, my question was not about sex.
3 | No marriage b/c we are bride of Jesus? | Mark 12:25 | EdB | 233063
My mistake I apparently don't know what you are asking. How we will interact with each other is something that scripture does not answer for us. While I agree the Song of Songs does cast another light on the marriage relationship. God commanded us in the first chapter to Genesis to be fruitful and multiply. That seems to be the prime purpose of the act of procreation. |
