Hi vmercy, Welcome to the forum. If you run a Search on Matthew 5:32 or any key word of interest you would find much said on marriage and divorce. I believe that Jesus is saying in Mark 10:11 is that He has higher expectations than even the Law has. The Pharisees began to question Him whether it was lawful for a man to divorce a wife. The consideration for Jesus was not was it lawful, but rather was it the right thing to do? Matthew 5:17 says, "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill." He has even greater expectations for us as seen from the verses that follow. But the bottom line is Mark 10:9 and the same message in Matthew l9:6, that is, "What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." 1 Corinthians 7:10, "But to the married I give instructions, not I, but the Lord, that the wife should not leave her husband (but if she does leave, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband should not send his wife away."
