difference in matthew 8 and luke 7. subj : - faith of the centurion i don't understand why in matthew - it has been recorded that the centurion told Jesus himself no need to go to his house to heal his servant. whereas in luke - it has been recorded that the centurion asked the jewish leaders or other people to pass message to Jesus. pls help . thk-u! |

Scripture ... Matt 8:5-13, Luke 7:1-10 ... Greetings ldi, In Luke, the Jewish elders plead (3:4-5), then he sent his friends speak (vv 6-8). In Matthew 8:5-8, it says that centurion spoke. Both he and his friends could have spoken ... or it is like when Jesus was flogged (Matt 27:26, Mark 15:15, John 19:1). It is literally "he flogged Jesus". When others speak, it is as if he was speaking. Hope this helps, Searcher |
