1 | Hell! | Matt 8:12 | stjohn | 185776 | ||
Hello mae, The Bible does in fact speak of hell as a place of outer darkness, more then of a place of fire. Hear are a few verses. Matt 8:12 but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Matt 22:13 "Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' Matt 25:30 "Throw out the worthless slave into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. It seems that our view of hell is colored with many movies and stories that we hear, but the Bible doesn't really teach this. Revelation does mention a lake of fire reserved for the anti Christ his wittiness and satin. we can be sure that hell is no-were we want to go. But imagine this, going to hell and hearing the voice of a son or daughter saying. "I followed you hear mom or dad." God bless. John |

And thank you mae, although it does seem to be a contradiction i.e. eternal fire/outer darkness. I believe that the written word perhaps cannot really describe what hell really is, so I would think that it is suggesting, perhaps something even worse. Just my opinion. God bless. John |
