1 | A quick question on Matthew 7:6 | Matt 7:6 | BayAreaJeff | 74681
Would it be fair to translate Matthew 7:6, "Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces." in context with the rest of chapter 7, as saying that we are to judge one's actions in accordance with their spiritual maturity? In other words, we are not to hold a standard for a new convert the same way we would for someone that's been walking in the faith for a while?
2 | A quick question on Matthew 7:6 | Matt 7:6 | Searcher56 | 74688
I would say Matthew 7:6 is separating the unbelivers (dogs and hogs) from the belivers. BayAreaJeff, greetings and welsom to the forum. New belivers need what is holy and our pearls, while there are some unbelivers, like the Pharisees, who should not be given what is holy or our pearls. Searcher |
