1 | Is Matt 7 v 20 always true? | Matt 7:20 | Diomede | 155029
I am trying to get to the bottom of womens role in the church, particularly regarding women preaching. Yesterday for a brief moment I thought I had it figured out. If the above verse is true then God would bless the work of women whom he had called to preach and their work would be fruitful. However I have since recalled several cases of preachers who would seem to have had a fruitful ministry, but it has been found out later they had been involved in all kinds of things they should't have been. So did God overule and still make their ministry fruitful so his will could be done despite the people he had to work with? Perhaps I don't understand what is meant by fruitful. What do you think this verse means? Thanks |

2 | Is Matt 7 v 20 always true? | Matt 7:20 | DocTrinsograce | 155033
Hi, Diomede... A fruitful ministry is not a measure of success. Ezekiel and Jeremiah had not a single convert between them. Ellen White and Mary Baker Eddy, by such a comparison would be infinitely more successful! Furthermore, I would question success as a measure of God's blessing. I'm sorry, but I do not know how to help you on your quest any more than to point to the passages that discuss such things directly. In Him, Doc |
