1 | how do I get my parents back in church? | Matt 6:33 | aherbert | 208793
My dad is a Deacon in the Church and has been for over 20 years. A couple of years ago, though, he quit going to church and started going to bars with his new "biker" friends and drinking. This is something very heavy on my heart and is also hurtful. I pray for my parents to return to church every day and have been for years. I've talked to my mom and dad before about going back to church and he actually stopped talking to me for a while. My mother, on the other hand, has been dealing with a deep depression for years and doesn't like for me to talk about church. When I ask her if she will be going to a church service she always says, "I'll try to make it." Which is interpreted as, "No," everytime. My question is what more can I do, besides pray for them constantly, to try to get them back in church?

Dear aherbert, Mat 6:33 I empathize with you. You have done the most correct thing - "praying". Constant prayers is powerful and pleasing to our Lord. Do you have a pastor to talk to, or mature christians at church who have good acquaintance with your parents that can help? Shalom Azure |

3 | how do I get my parents back in church? | Matt 6:33 | aherbert | 208830
I do have a pastor at church and he has talked with both of them already. We have some prayer warriors at our church also and most of them have talked with my mom about several things that are going on with her. My dad refuses to talk with anyone about this because he doesn't want anyone in his business, so he says.
4 | how do I get my parents back in church? | Matt 6:33 | azurelaw | 208837
Dear aherbert, Leave your sorrow to Christ in unceasing prayers, He will accomplish His will in His appointed time and method. Keep your faith in Him and persevere. Demonstrate your walk with Christ to your parents. Not only tell your parents that you love them, but also show your love to them. Tell them that God loves them and you are praying for them. Matt 5:16 "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Shalom Azure |
