1 | Forgiveness at a cost... | Matt 6:12 | Jim the deacon | 227414
I am a church deacon. My son in law had a bad past. He stole from my family and has issues with lying. He is now encaraserated in a special program and is trying to change his life. My daughter (his wife) has a VERY hard heart (understandibly so!). I visit my son-in-law in jprison and am encouraging him through scripture and counceling he is getting through where he is. I have forgiven him for what he has done, BUT, my wife and daughter have not. My wife is a Christian woman but has difficulty forgetting. The relationship I have with my son in law is starining the family. I am truly torn from this. I feel strongly that I need to be an example of forgiveness ans open my arms to him with love. We have a great relationship and I truly want and desire to continue in his walk with the Lord. I am torm because even though this is what I think is biblical, it is causing stress on my family..Am I doing the right thing?? HELP!!!
2 | Forgiveness at a cost... | Matt 6:12 | segundo313 | 227415
I am currently reading "The Bait of Satan" by John Bevere. The whole concept is how Satan uses our choice to hold grudges, not forgive etc., as a step to get us out of God's will. Read it and pass it on to your Wife and Daughter.Matt 6:14-15, Luke 6:37, and Matt 6:12
