War and remembrance DAY OF TERROR -- 9/11 A Prayer for the Nation and for the Victims of the Attack on America "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4 Almighty God, Father of mercies and giver of comfort: Deal graciously, we pray, with all who mourn; that, casting all their care on you, they may know the consolation of your love; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (The Book of Common Prayer) |

Thank you, Kalos, for that prayer! It is my belief that most of Americans were affected by 9/11 in much the same way that the United States was shocked on December 7, 1941. But the stakes are a bit different now, and the enemy is not as well defined as it was then. Either way, we are to pray and to keep our focus on the Lord, casting our cares upon Him so that we may know the consolation of His love. Grace to you, my friend. - Makarios |
