1 | What is Jesus's point? Perfectionism? | Matt 5:48 | billk | 51332
What is Jesus's point? Perfectionism? Since the context of the verse(prior commands, etc) are law oriented not faith/grace oriented.... isn't this Old Testament(sons of Haggar/slavery) teaching ? If we literally tried to follow this command (and not the sprit of the entire new convenant) would we "miss the mark" ? |

2 | What is Jesus's point? Perfectionism? | Matt 5:48 | leolipwee | 51341
yes it is OT teaching! the reason is JESUS was saying this, is because He had not DIED yet. He have not yet taken away the sins of the world and moreover, He has to be perfect before GOD's laws, or else he would miss the mark (or sin), which is the reason He was here! The people He spoke to at that time weren't saved like us AND because JESUS made the mark for us, i don't think we can ever miss the mark... may my young walk with JESUS help you. shalom leolipwee |
