1 | what is the river of water in Ezekiel 47 | Matt 4:19 | Searcher56 | 214758 | ||
God's day to you, John, Do not accept what anyone says/ writes at face value. I look at the context, Ezekiel 40-48, which includes the Mellinium Temple. Gill is forcing Scripture and doesn't make sense. The context includes Zechariah who also tells about the river, and it is reasonable to believe this is not what Gill says ... for this verse. Hi Searcher, God's day to you too sir! :-) I did read the context of the whole chapter, and Gill's commentary, but I don't see where he doesn't make sense. Actually I think he makes pretty good sense. I think too when we see in Scripture something that points to Christ and His ministry, including the original twelve and our own duty to follow His lead as fishers of men; I think it's a good bet that it's not far from the mark, and a plus! :-) It looks to me too that he doesn't miss the reference to the Millennium or the Temple when he says: "likewise all other ministers of the Gospel are here meant, [especially those that will be in the latter day;]" -Gill [Brackets] are mine for enfaces.
