1 | GREAT COMMISSION: Is it Great Omission? | Matt 28:19 | arapga | 101603
I was told that the Great Commission was great because it was for the salvation of the human race, and it was the Lord who says it, and should therefore be fulfilled to the instruction as given. Being very observant, it become very obvious to me that the GREAT COMMISSION becomes the GREAT OMISSION becasue each time the Gospel salvation is preached, I frequently noticed the evangelists omit the instruction of baptism. They simply end the crusade with "Accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Persoanl Lord and Savior." Don't they have to include baptism in their messages and acceptance?
2 | GREAT COMMISSION: Is it Great Omission? | Matt 28:19 | shalor | 101604
(Mat 28:19-20 NASB) "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." The great commission say to: 1 make Disciple of them (i.e preach the gospel and train them) 2 Baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. 3 teach them to observe all that christ commanded. If you are not doing all those things then it is not the GREAT COMMISION but something else. |
