1 | On the baptism subject- TITLES? | Matt 28:19 | stebert1 | 56682
After all this baptism debate.. Jesus said baptize "in the name of the father the son and the holy ghost" But lets look at the word NAME YES!! NAME, none of those TITLES are names and PETER was SMART enough to know one NAME yes NAME and say in the "name of Jesus".. there is no going around that i am tired of these debates.. "i and the father are one" Power is a different story because Jesus was man limited but God is a spirit and the father is the son and vice versa. "before Abraham I am" ... but still you cannot deny any scripture. "the father son and holy ghost" did not come into play till MANY years after Christ was around approx 600 from what I know. HOW CAN YOU DENY THE APOSTILS??????????????????????????????? There is no holy trinity, ex: your got in a car accident (God forbid) you don't call on three titles come on!! So why in baptism?? you cant tell me what Peter was doing was wrong!! NO SCRIPT URE BAPTIZES IN TITLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so why would you??????? Peter didnt! "If you see me you see that father" STEVE |

2 | On the baptism subject- TITLES? | Matt 28:19 | kalos | 56694
What evidence do you offer to prove your assertion that Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Ghost) are titles and not names? Speaking of evidence, you ramble on for two paragraphs without fully and accurately citing even one Scripture reference. If you are tired of these debates, then why are you fueling this one? You display quite an attitude by the tone of your post, with so many words in capital letters and your multiple !'s and ?'s. You write: "the father is the son and vice versa." Not true. The Father is not the Son. The Son is not the Father. There is one God in three persons -- not one God in one person and definitely not three Gods. You write: "If you see me you see that father". Enlighten us, please. Where do those exact words ( including "that father") appear in Scripture? "There is no holy trinity." Yeah, we've heard that one before, too. Your example of getting in a car accident doesn't even make any sense, let alone prove anything. The meaning of Jesus' words' "I and the Father are one" has been explained over and over and over again on this forum. (Use the Search function.) You're a little late in presenting the heresy of "no trinity." We've heard all that noise before. I'd say you missed it by about a year. |
