I think you are missing the point. In this story who is rich? The servant or the master? Is it not the servant, who was a faithful steward of the Master's riches? Jesus is teaching here stewardship not wealth management or how to become wealthy. Hardwork as a steward is what is being rewarded here, not financial wealth. The generalization of rich being lazy and poor being hard workers is just that a generalization. I know rich honest and hardworkers and I know poor that would steal you blind if they weren't so lazy as to not get out of bed. |

The second sentence in my response should have said. It was the Master. The servant was a faithful steward of the Master's wealth. I don't know where my brain was when I was typing that resonse. Sorry! |
