2 | Why ten? why not only one? Poligamy?. | Matt 25:1 | Makarios | 113341
Greetings Austin, The parable of the Ten Virgins in Matthew 25:1-13 is a story that clearly teaches watchfulness (v. 13)- in that only those who are prepared for His coming will enter the kingdom of heaven. This parable does not teach polygamy and cannot be used to support polygamy. The ten virgins represent ten bridesmaids, who were responsible for preparing the bride to meet the bridegroom. Therefore, the groom would not be marrying all ten virgins at once, but only the bride. In this way, the virgins could be seen as a representation of the nation of Israel, and the groom, Christ. The point is: be prepared for the coming of Christ! Blessings to you, Makarios |

3 | Only one??? | Matt 25:1 | Augusto | 113453
Hi Makarios, How do you know that only one was the bride? Is this your personal interpretation? I mean which of the 10 was? The text doesen't clarify any (one) bride or same bridesmaids, it says that were 10 who were waiting for the groom not only one. Austin |

4 | Only one??? | Matt 25:1 | Searcher56 | 113470
I believe thet were all bridesmaids ... since the text only says they were virgins and were treated as either foolish or wise - five each.
