Greetings Anonymous! There were two phases to Jewish weddings. First the bridegroom went to the bride's home to obtain his bride and observe certain religious ceremonies. Then he took his bride to his own home for a resumption of the festivities. Christ will take His bride, the church, up with him and they will enjoy the marriage feast together (1 Thess. 4:17). When Christ comes, He will come and take those who persevere to the end (believe in Him and profess Him as Lord) with Him. If you die before you profess Jesus Christ as Lord, then the "door is shut." There is no chance for you to be saved. Or if you are living a sinful way of life and expect to change just before the Master comes back, then His coming will 'sneak up' on you, and He will come at a time that you least expect it. "For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will." Matt. 24:44 Blessings to you, Nolan |
